Rehtrel Green is his birth name. Bungleton is the mantle he inherits. “Rehtrel” is an invented given name, while “Green” has carried through the family since the second generation. Becoming Bungleton isn't about becoming someone else. It's about taking his place in the family legacy.
The first Bungleton Green is rooted in the Great Migration and inspired by the public-domain character of the 1920s. He arrived in Chicago with little and eventually built a quiet fortune through hustle and instinct. After his death, that fortune was stolen from his estate.
Rehtrel was a researcher long before he knew there was anything to find. Years later, his own work through microfilm, newspapers, and public records uncovered what had happened to his family's estate. No anonymous tip. No unexpected windfall. He found the truth himself.
The inheritance doesn't make Rehtrel who he is. He had already built his own life and fortune. Reclaiming what was stolen is about restoring something his family lost, including its name and history.

Rehtrel's greatest advantage isn't physical. It's preparation. By the time someone realizes he's studying them, he's usually learned enough to predict what they'll do next.
Bungleton isn't designed to attract attention. He's meant to look like a shadow moving through the city rather than a costume announcing its arrival.
Locked canon
Bronzeport is an original city inspired by Chicago and shaped by the history of the Great Migration. Its industrial neighborhoods, waterfront, and railways draw from the character of the city without recreating it directly.
Its name is also a nod to Bronzeville, Chicago's historic Black Metropolis and an important center of the Chicago Black Renaissance.
Supporting Cast
Betty Green — Rehtrel's mother, who raised him after his father's death.
Nayvadius — A criminal broker who quietly controls much of Bronzeport's underground economy.
Sgt. Joe — An honest cop and one of Bungleton's few trusted allies inside the department.
Chapter Two
Bungleton Green first appeared on the streets of Chicago in the 1920s. Over the generations, his name became part of the Green family's history. Now Rehtrel carries it forward in honor of the family that came before him and the father he lost. He is the fourth generation. He is Bungleton.

Controlled an underground economy without ever touching the money himself. He never killed and never stole.

An honest police officer and Rehtrel's father. Killed in the line of duty.
Present day
Raised with little, Rehtrel built his own fortune before discovering and reclaiming what had been stolen from his family decades earlier.
Chapter Three
Four rules define how Bungleton operates. They are why Bronzeport has learned to trust a man whose face it has never seen.
File 02 · Doctrine
No exceptions. His father's killer crossed that line. Bungleton never will.
He studies the situation before he enters it. By the time his target makes a move, Rehtrel has usually considered it already.
When the police need evidence, he gives them enough to finish the case. He doesn't leave a signature or ask for recognition. Bronzeport simply learns to recognize his work.
He wants the city to know Bungleton was there. He doesn't want the reward that comes with it.
Chapter Four
Everything Bungleton can do comes from years of training, study, and preparation. Nothing about him is supernatural.

Cultural Anthropology · Physics
Rehtrel is exceptionally intelligent, but his real advantage is how he applies what he knows. Behavioral economics helps him understand decisions and predict behavior. Cultural anthropology helps him understand the communities he moves through, while physics informs the technology and precision behind his arsenal. He also designs and builds his own equipment.
Kali · Jiu Jitsu
Rehtrel trained across three continents, with particular expertise in Filipino Kali and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Kali allows him to turn ordinary objects into effective weapons, while Jiu Jitsu gives him control at close range. His fighting style favors efficiency over spectacle.
Bung Plug Kit · Anything is a Weapon
The bung plug kit is his signature weapon, but Bungleton's real weapon is accuracy. Almost anything he can hold can become useful at range. His equipment is built from ordinary industrial materials that he modifies himself for speed, control, and precision.
